Cough with expectoration may be called as Ārdra kāsa.

Signs and Symptoms
Patient of this disease in each paroxysm expectorates thick phlegm in large quantity, his mouth remains almost coated with phlegm and he feels lethargy, headache, loss of appetite and heaviness in the body.

Treatment |
Single Drugs
1. Svarasa (juice) of Ārdraka (ginger) -14 ml is to be taken with equal quantity of honey twice a day.
2. Svarasa (juice) of fresh leaf of Vāsā – 7 to 14 ml is to be taken with equal quantity of honey, twice a day.
3. Powdered seed of Kamala (lotus) is to be taken in 1 to 3 g. dose with honey in sufficient quantity to make a paste, twice a day.
4. Warm water – 3 parts mixed with honey-1 part is to be taken in 100 ml. dose twice a day.

Simple Preparations
1. Trikaṭu Cūrṇa – 1 g. is to be taken with equal part of Śarkarā (raw sugar), twice a day.
2. Decoction prepared from the whole plant of Kaṇṭakārī (yellow berried nighshade) – 14 to 28 ml. is to be taken with 1 g. powdered fruit of Pippalī (long pepper), twice a day.
3. Decoction prepared from the equal parts of roots of Atibalā (country mallow), Kaṇṭakārī and Bṛhatī (two varieties of yellow berried night shade), leaf of Vāsā and Drākṣā (raisin) – 14 to 28 ml. is to be taken with 5 g. Śarkarā (raw sugar), twice a day.
4. Powder prepared from the equal part of Drākṣā (raisin), root of Madhuyaṣṭi (glycyrrhiza) and fruits of Kharjūra (date) and Marica (black pepper) is to be taken in 1 to 3 g. dose with 4 to 6 g. honey, twice a day.

Compound Preparations
1. Sitopalādi Cūrṇa: 1 to 3 g. is to be taken with 4 to 6 g. honey twice a day.
2. Tālīsādi Cūrṇa: 1 to 3 g. is to be taken with 4 to 6 g. honey twice a day.
3. Vyoṣādi vaṭī: 1 Vaṭī is to be sucked 4 to 6 times a day.
4. Khadirādi Vaṭī: 1 Vaṭī is to be sucked 4 to 6 times a day.
5. Elādi Vaṭī: 1 Vaṭī is to be sucked 4 to 6 times a day.
6. Mayūrapuccha Bhasma: 120 to 250 mg. is to be taken with 4 to 6 g. honey twice a day.
7. Amṛtaprāśāvaleha: 12 to 24 g. is to be taken twice a day.
8. Drakṣāriṣṭa: 14 to 28 ml. is to be taken with equal quantity of water after meal two times a day.
9. Cyavanaprāśa: 12 to 24 g. is to be taken twice a day.
