Aśmarī is a disease caused by the formation or lodging of a stone in the urinary passage. It is also called Mūtraśmarī. | ||
Signs and Symptoms Severe Abdominal pain in the umbilical or urinary bladder region referred to perineal raphe or penis, obstruction to urinary flow due to to which patient passes urine drop by drop with difficulty, effort to urinate causes intense pain, the pain is aggravated by running, jumping, riding and walking long distance, and blood in the urine are the main signs and symptoms of Mūtrāśmarī. | ||
Treatment | ||
Single Drugs
1. Powdered seed of Kulattha (dolichos bean) – 40 to 80 g., to be taken twice a day. | ||
Simple Preparations
1. Decoction prepared from the fruit rind of Āmalakī (embelic myrobalan) – 14 to 28 ml., to be taken with 25 g. Guḍa (jaggery) twice a day. | ||
Compound Preparations
1. Bṛhat Varuṇādi Kvātha: 14 to 28 ml., to be taken with 0.5 g. of Yavakṣāra twice a day. | ||
Pathya Old Śāli variety of rice, seed of Kulattha (dolichos bean), Ārdraka (ginger), fruit of Kūṣmāṇḍa and leaves of Śālaparṇi and Varuṇa are the useful articles of diet for the patient suffering from the urinary stone (Mūtrāśmarī). | ||
Apathya Incompatible, acidic, constipative and Guru items of food and drink should be eliminated from the diet. Avoid suppression of natural calls like urination. |
